PROLOGUE
As science and ethics policy advisors we have examined the responses to
the COVID-19 and, in part, previous pandemics, identifi ed important lessons
learned and to be learned and formulated the following recommendations
to support the European Commission’s efforts in strengthening Europe’s
preparedness for, and management of, future pandemics and epidemics.
