Abstract
e main objective of this document is to analyze the employment situa-
tion of people with disabilities to support eorts to increase inclusion of
this group in the labor force. is document examines degree of emplo-
yability, employment characteristics, working conditions, and barriers and
diculties to be overcome to access and maintain employment.
Development of the Labor Atlas for Persons with Disabilities 2016 has fo-
llowed a series of steps, including search, collection and establishment of a
set of indicators from a wide range of statistical and literature sources. e
information presented here relates primarily to the latest data available as of
September 30, 2015, although statistical series are included to be cognizant
of the Atlas’ evolution. ese indicators have been divided into dierent sec-
tions including characteristics of persons with disabilities, poverty and be-
nets, employment situation, and hiring and salary, allowing us to make a
synthetic diagnosis of the labor market situation of people with disabilities
from the local level to the levels of the Autonomous Communities, the State
of Spain, and Europe. Also, this document presents a case study with data
obtained from a group of 20 companies with 50 or more employees located in
the ve major Spanish metropolitan areas (Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Seville
and Valencia). is case study explores the labor conditions of employed per-
